When You Come Together as a Church
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels, and to the assembly (church) of the first born who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
(Hebrews 12:22-24)
(Hebrews 12:22-24)
The church, by definition, is a gathering, an assembly. And by faith in Christ, you have come to Mount Zion, the heavenly assembly (church) composed of all the saints of all time. This heavenly church is the one church of which each of us is a member. And the way this heavenly body manifests on the earth is through local assemblies – the gathering of believers as an assembly.
As you can see, assembling together is not incidental to who we are. High Pointe is an assembly of like-minded believers bound together by our profession of faith, our shared doctrinal commitments, and a joint church covenant. It’s no surprise, then, that we have longed to gather together – for the glory of our Lord and our own joy and endurance. We praise our Lord and rejoice with one another that, Lord willing, we will begin gathering again beginning this Sunday, June 7.
Since we haven’t met since March 8, and with the tremendous flow of information from various sources, official and unofficial, I am sure you have lots of questions before we gather this coming Lord’s Day. Here are some ways for you to prepare to gather with us if you are ready and feel comfortable.

REGISTER to Attend our Phase TWO In-Person Gatherings
Beginning June 1, 2020
Beginning June 1, 2020
Due to social distancing recommendations, the capacity of our auditorium is about 150 persons. Consequently, we will hold two identical services each Sunday to accommodate as many of you as possible. The first service will take place during our normal 10:00 am worship hour. Our second service will be at 5:00 pm when we would have normally gathered for our evening prayer service.
To make sure everyone can have a seat, we ask that you register for either service. You will help us greatly through this extra effort, which also allows us to plan for guests. You will be able to register from a link in the e-news, Facebook, Twitter, or directly from our website.

Beginning June 7, 2020 – July 26, 2020
Beginning June 7, 2020, we will resume in-person gatherings. To provide a safe environment, we will follow the guidelines provided by our governor, our attorney general, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). For details as to what we are asking of you, please read our COVID-19 Regathering Plan on our website HERE.
NOTE: During Phase TWO we will not offer nursery, children’s ministries, or Life Classes. Life Groups that would like to meet in person will determine that on their own and will need to select a meeting time other than Sunday evenings. Family Overflow Room will also be closed during this phase.
High Pointe, we cannot wait to gather together with you this Lord’s Day! Thank you for your encouragement during this time that we've been unable to gather. And thank you for your generosity during this time through your continued regular giving. You have exhibited Christ-exalting humility in your gracious and flexible spirit, bending with the winds of change without breaking. What a joy it is to serve you!
Love,
Pastor Juan
