Welcome Robert Cline Our New Senior Associate Pastor
On Sunday evening, April 14, by a unanimous vote, High Pointe called Robert Cline to be an elder and our senior associate pastor. In this role, Robert will support the ministry of the senior pastor and oversee discipleship pathways at High Pointe. Robert has extensive experience in writing discipleship materials and training leaders, missionaries, and other gospel workers. We are expecting Robert and his wife Rona to join us around the middle of June. Please pray for Robert and Rona as they transition from Richmond, Virginia to Austin. And when they do arrive, welcome them as you are known to do. Here is a little biographical information to help you get to know them better:
We rejoice in the Lord’s kind blessings to gift Robert and Rona to High Pointe during this season of their life and ministry.
Life Classes
Life Classes are meant to equip High Pointe for life as a Christian. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and join us. This session, we are offering the following classes from April 7 to May 26:
Come and Go Reception for the Davis Family | THIS Sunday after the morning service
This Sunday, after our morning worship gathering, we invite you to a Come and Go Reception honoring Pastor Davey, Callie, and their kids before they leave for Ireland at the end of the month. We want to express our love and appreciation for them, as well as to encourage them as they respond to the Lord's call to the mission field.
Please come to the reception with an encouraging note or card for them. Your note can be written specifically for one of the Davis's, or for the entire family. We will also have blank cards for you to use at the reception. We plan to divide up all the cards and mail them a few notes per month throughout their first year in Ireland to remind them of our love and prayers for them.
Vacation Bible School | June 2-5
Children, teens, and adults are invited to High Pointe Baptist Church for Vacation Bible School, June 2-5, 6:00 - 8:30 pm. We are planning a fun-filled, Bible-centered week that you won't want to miss. We'll close it all out on Wednesday evening, with Family Night complete with a VBS worship rally for the whole family, food, inflatables, face painting, a petting zoo, and more -- all for free! You will not want to miss this year's VBS! Registration opens next week.
On-Call Pastor
To better care for you, High Pointe, we have an “on-call” pastor available for emergencies after office hours and on weekends. To reach the on-call pastor, call 512-837-7725, extension 1.
Preaching Schedule: Pray regularly for the ministry of the Word at High Pointe. Also, prepare for our gatherings by reading the sermon text, thinking it through, and asking questions about the text before Sunday. Here is our (tentative) preaching schedule designed to help you prepare for Sundays:

Love,
- After Robert planted and pastored a church in New England, Robert and Rona lived and worked overseas for more than 20 years and have traveled extensively in more than 20 countries. Before coming to High Pointe, Robert worked full time at the International Mission Board as manager of Content and Curriculum Development. Rona works part-time as a trainer and content developer.
- Robert and Rona enjoy helping others understand and live the Bible, listening to all kinds of music, reading, fitness, gardening, dabbling with foreign languages, and assisting others to succeed in cross-cultural settings.
- After starting a non-profit education and development office in Asia, Robert acted as Director for ten years. They then spent 10 years training expatriates to live and work cross-culturally. They now live in the US and continue to train businessmen, retirees, students, and others to live intentionally in cross-cultural spaces.
We rejoice in the Lord’s kind blessings to gift Robert and Rona to High Pointe during this season of their life and ministry.
