High Pointe Men’s Conference April 5-6, 2024
Strength to Serve
Focusing on servanthood, this year’s men’s conference will look to the example of Jesus as a model for how every man is called to live and model servanthood in their lives, families, churches, and communities. Our speaker is Kevin Washington, Director of Player Development for the University of Texas Longhorns football program and Director of Biblical Counseling at High Pointe Baptist Church. This year, our conference will be a one-day event on April 6 (continental breakfast, a full lunch, and snacks throughout provided).
For fun and fellowship, though, the men of High Pointe will meet at The Pitch in Austin, Texas on April 5th from 6 pm to 9 pm. Come prepared to play pickleball and hang out with other brothers. While pickleball is covered in the registration fee, each man is responsible for his own food. Please note that outside food is not allowed at The Pitch.
NOTE: Due to the men’s conference, Engaging Our Neighbors will take place on Saturday, April 13.
Life Classes Resume THIS SUNDAY, April 7
Life Classes are meant to equip High Pointe for life as a Christian. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and join us. This session, we are offering the following classes from April 7 to May 26:
Special-Called Members’ Meeting | Sunday, April 14, 5:00 PM
Purpose: To Affirm Robert Cline as an Elder and Senior Associate Pastor
The elders would like to nominate Robert Cline to serve as an elder and be our senior associate pastor. Throughout the New Testament, brothers were commended to congregations when they were not known by them (Philippians 2:19-24). Likewise, the elders commend Robert Cline to you as a faithful, mature brother who can teach and delights in caring for God’s flock wherever God has placed him.
You had the opportunity to begin getting to know Robert this past week. You may read the brief bio of Robert we shared in our March 13 E-news HERE. Robert preached at High Pointe this past Sunday morning, March 24. You may listen to his sermon HERE. We also briefly interviewed Robert before the congregation on Sunday night, then prayed for God’s will for both High Pointe and the Clines. Then, Robert made himself available during the week for anyone who wanted to meet with him.
On Sunday, April 14, at 5:00 PM we will have a brief members’ meeting to vote to call Robert Cline as our senior associate pastor. To read the elders’ full announcement and explanation, click HERE.
On-Call Pastor
To better care for you, High Pointe, we have an “on-call” pastor available for emergencies after office hours and on weekends. To reach the on-call pastor, call 512-837-7725, extension 1.
Preaching Schedule: Pray regularly for the ministry of the Word at High Pointe. Also, prepare for our gatherings by reading the sermon text, thinking it through, and asking questions about the text before Sunday. Here is our (tentative) preaching schedule designed to help you prepare for Sundays:
