The Trinity
Special Guests: Kevin DeYoung and Fred Sanders
Our annual Theology Conference is designed to provide an opportunity for the whole church to focus on a specific subject matter within theology and culture. The goal of this two-day conference is to see lives re-formed by the refocusing of desires and renewing of thoughts. While this is a ministry of and to the people of High Pointe, we are very intentional about it being a service to and fellowship with other churches as well. We invite anyone interested in a concentrated weekend of focused training on an essential area of discipleship within the Christian life to join us! You may register at this link.
This year's theme is The Trinity. On Friday and Saturday, September 17 & 18, High Pointe will be hosting Kevin DeYoung and Fred Sanders to help us understand how the doctrine of the Trinity affects our everyday lives as Christians.
Dr. Kevin DeYoung | In addition to his primary responsibility as senior pastor at Christ Covenant Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kevin is an Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. He was formerly a Chancellor’s Professor for the Seminary. Kevin is a member of the Council and blogs for The Gospel Coalition. He regularly speaks at churches, conferences, colleges, and seminaries in North America and overseas. He has published more than a dozen books for adults and children, including Just Do Something and The Biggest Story. His book, Crazy Busy: A Mercifully Short Book About a Big Problem, was named the 2014 Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Book of the Year. In addition, Christianity Today has awarded Book of the Year honors to three of his books in 2009, 2010, and 2013. World Magazine named What Does the Bible Really Teach About Homosexuality? one of its 2015 Books of the Year.
Dr. Fred Sanders | Fred Sanders is a systematic theologian who studies and teaches across the entire range of classic Christian doctrine, but with a primary focus on the doctrine of the Trinity. Fred has taught in Torrey Honors College since 1999 and is an amateur historian of Biola’s institutional history. He is co-founder of the annual Los Angeles Theology Conference and maintains an active internet presence via Twitter and blog. He and his family are members of Grace Evangelical Free Church. He has written and contributed to a number of books, including The Deep Things of God: How the Trinity Changes Everything, 2nd ed. (Crossway, 2017), The Triune God (Zondervan, 2016), and The Image of the Immanent Trinity: Rahner’s Rule and the Theological Interpretation of Scripture (Peter Lang, 2004).
