Emmaus Church Plant Commissioning Service September 25, 2022

This Sunday, September 25, by God’s mercy, we will send out another church plant – Emmaus Church in Georgetown, led by pastors Marshall Canales and Jack Higgins.

In 2005, it became obvious that believers in the Austin area were driving long distances to gather with High Pointe. We had large groups of members from Elgin and the Cedar Park/Leander area. We quickly realized that there was a need for more churches like High Pointe. From the beginning, our church planting strategy has been driven by pastoral care and evangelism. We wanted to care well for those members driving the farthest distances, and we wanted them to be a part of a church where they could invite their neighbors.

By God’s grace, we planted a church in Elgin (2011), and we planted a church in Cedar Park (2016). Since that time, we have slowly been accumulating a large number of members coming from the Georgetown area. By God’s grace, the Lord is allowing us again to care well for these members and give them an opportunity to have a gospel presence in Georgetown.

Join us this Sunday morning as we commission, charge, and send off our latest church plant.

As announced this past Sunday, we will have a time for questions and answers regarding the presentation given on a new partnership at our last member’s meeting.

Sunday Evening Prayer Gathering | 5:00 PM

Evangelism Opportunities

UT Campus:
•M-W-F 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
•Also W and F 7pm to 9 pm for those who work during the day.
•We are also doing all the UT football home games three hours before game time at the corner of trinity and MLK.

State Capitol: Saturday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
